F*ck Yeah!
I'm a big fan of the TV series "Lost" (well, I watch it anyway) and I've been looking recently at Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who plays the part of "Mr. Eko". More specifically, I've been looking at his beard. Mr. Akinnuoye-Agbaje has a very unfortunate beard, which consists of little clumps of hair, that sit in odd places over his face. Between the curly clumps he has areas of bald skin and at the tip of his chin, a bunch of hair dangles down...I still can't see whether it is deliberately tied together, or not. I think it is. I've been really bothered by that beard, mostly because it is ugly but also because I knew it remined me of something...

Then, last night, it came to me!

Mr. Akinnuoye-Agbaje's beard (when he plays Mr. Eko in "Lost"), is exactly the same as Gary Johnston's beard in "Team America: World Police", after he undergoes the valmorification process to look more like an Arab!

Perhaps they have the same make-up artist?

BTW: I'd like to have provided some pictorial evidence for all this but I can't find any pictures of Gary post valmorification, and the pictures of Mr. Eko I've seen don't show his beard too well against his Nigerian skin-colour...Well, not on my clapped out old monitor anyway.

Mr Echo? FUCK YEAH!

(I liked it when he cut some beard bobbles off and gave them to that other guy. Like a fucked up mafia kiss, but with beard bobbles...)

A very, very sharp hat pin.

He lives for the pain.

Jinx!!
I was going to say the same thing.

I think the husband and I determined that the hat was likely some cheap polyester fabric that snagged a lot, and that the fine layer of stubble on his head acted sort of like velcro.

Same way he scared off the black fog-monster: Pure badassedness. The hat was afraid to fall off.

Obv Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje isn't as good an actor as Gary Johnston.

I thought you'd written Gary Coleman (I've been drinking).

Now wouldn't that have been interesting casting for Mr Echo? "Whatchoo talkin' about, Sawyer?"

He he. I expect Gary Coleman turned it down because he couldn't grow a beard...

I love that show "Lost"! I watch it faithfully.

I agree with you about the beard. It is a little....bothersome.

Gary Johnston's beard is better, I think. I found it to be way more believable :)

Speaking of Lost, have you seen this theory? I like it on some levels...

Tenuous link here, but...

Me and the Mr were watching CrimWatch last night, and there was a bit about a guy who's been befriending churches and conning the old lady parishioners out of their money. Later on they said that he may now have converted to Islam and started targeting innocent Mosque-goers, and we wondered if this meant the criminal had adopted the Gary Johnston method of disguise...one, we concluded, can only hope.

It was *my* belief that those two little dangley beard bits were deliberately cultivated and braided. He eventually cut them off and offered them to "Henry Gale" while appologizing for killing the Others who were trying to drag him into the jungle. My thought was, two dead attackers, two beard dangles.

No, no, I wouldn't call it obsessive.

Yay! I found that picture too but when I tried to link to it in my journal, it came up with words only...Saying "I am gay". It's some kind of trick to protect their bandwidth. So THANK YOU for getting it here! :D
