Amy Winehouse, live.
This link leads to a really nice interview with Amy Winehouse and four great live songs. It's a really fucking annoying website, so you have to sit through a boring (short) radio advert, before you get to the interview...But it IS worth it. Oh, and click on one of the songs before the interview finishes completely, or they disappear and you get some other crap. Personally I think her version of "Valerie" on here is INCREDIBLE.

Amy Winehouse isn't everyone's cup of tea but I am really moved by her voice and I adore how fucked up she looks. I need to buy her album.

You say "really" too much in this post.

I find her entertaining, but I'm beginning to feel about her rather how you felt about James Blunt. I was planning to see her in Chicago, but I'm already burnt out. I've the most wonderfully gruesome picture of her I stole from someone. Want me to email it?

I have to tell you, England is turning out some great music right now. I love Amy Winehouse. I'm also enjoying Lily Allen, who I'm guessing is starting to become James Blunt-like over there but her music just brings me up.

I also really like Dragonette who is a pop-synth band. Part of it is that I like the music and part of it is I've met the lead singer on a number of occassions when she use to play a more toned down music in Toronto.

You should really be coming to Glastonbury over here next weekend. Dragonette, Lily and Amy are all performing, alongside everyone from The Who to the Arctic Monkeys to Shirley Bassey. I'm sooooooooooooooooo excited! 8 days till I go to Glasto! Sorry for rubbing it in!

Oh, yeah. I'm very aware of the line-up at Glatonbury. I have a website called Vintage Vinyl News that covers artists whose careers started in 1985 and before (because, well, I'm basically an old fart) and I've been writing about Glastonbury (I guess Smokey Robinson never ended up signing for it), Isle of Wight, etc.

I would love to hear your impressions of the festival when you get back.

Well two options then. Either friend me and you'll be able to read my full post-festival report (featuring photos and video clips as well as a review of all the bands I see). Alternatively, remember to contact me after the festival!

I've friended you because a) you are music oriented and that's always a good thing and b) you have the good taste to have Scarlet on you friends list AND LGB in you interests.

I think you'll find that I was the very first person to list LGB as an interest. And currently there are 161 users with LGB on their interests, which makes me a TREND SETTER.

BTW, if you don't believe I was the first, you can ask Scarlet, or try and track down the original posts on the subject, probably about 18 months or so ago.

But yes, mainly music and football (soccer) orientated, and you're more than welcome. I've friended you back. Enjoy reading about Glastonbury when I get back!!

That Valerie video is amazing. And the song is available on one of her cd singles; I play it so much my husband is ready to commit me.

She's an ugly, fucked-up alcoholic with absolutely no manners and the most stupid hairstyle this side of various members of Bon Jovi. But what a voice.

I'd love to see her and Lily Allen in a drunken bar brawl. If they're going to be England's representatives on the world stage, they should start acting like it.

I heard a clip of Rehab on the radio the other day and *really* enjoyed it, but I forgot her name until you mentioned it here again. Thanks for reminding me - I've added the CD to my Amazon wishlist. her voice is absolutely fantastic.

About the James Blunt comments; do you despise him because he's overexposed or because "You're Beautiful" sounds like whining to music?
